Information we collect

When you ask for a quote or request a visit, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, suburb or property address, service and property details, preferred time, and anything you put in the notes or message fields. We also receive information you choose to share when you contact us by email, phone, WhatsApp or Facebook.

Notes may include accessibility, health or disability-related details if you choose to tell us about needs relevant to the service. Please only include what you want us to use when assessing or arranging your request.

Our website provider may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address and browser details. If you use address suggestions on the booking form, Google Maps Places may process the address you enter.

Our authenticated agent quote interface uses a shortened hash of the requester's IP address for rate limiting. It also stores a request fingerprint and the result temporarily to prevent duplicate submissions.

How we use information

We use it to prepare estimates, respond to enquiries, check availability, handle booking requests, communicate about services, follow up on quote requests and keep business records. A booking request is not a confirmed appointment until we confirm it.

When you submit a quote request, or a calculated quote that includes a valid email address, we may send you a confirmation and send ourselves a copy. We may then email you a follow-up automatically. Before doing so, we check our calendar for an upcoming booking associated with your email address.

The quote calculator and booking form save unfinished entries, including contact details you enter, in this browser's local storage. They are sent to us when you submit the form. A successful submission removes the relevant saved draft. You can also remove a draft by clearing this website's browser data.

If you continue from a calculated quote to the booking form, your email address and notes are passed through this browser's session storage to prefill the form. They are not placed in the booking link, and the one-time transfer is removed when the booking form opens.

Services we use

We use Google services to check calendar availability, record booking requests, send emails and offer address suggestions. Quote enquiries may be recorded in Notion so we can manage and follow up on them. Our website hosting provider processes information needed to operate the site. Upstash Redis holds temporary request-protection data for the authenticated agent quote interface. These providers receive information relevant to the service they provide.

If an email fails to send, its recipient address and subject may be recorded in server error logs to help us diagnose the problem.

If you contact us through Facebook or WhatsApp, Meta also handles information under its own privacy policy. Some service providers operate internationally, so information may be processed or stored outside Australia. Contact us if you would like details about the providers currently used for your information.

Keeping and protecting information

Quote leads, sent emails and calendar bookings do not have an automatic deletion period set by this website. They may be kept while needed to respond to you, provide services, maintain business records or meet legal obligations. The temporary agent-request fingerprint and result expire from our request-protection store after 24 hours; rate-limit counters expire after their short enforcement window. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Access, correction and deletion

You can email info@shineandcare.com.au to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or ask us to delete information we no longer need. We may need to confirm your identity and may have to retain some records for legal or business reasons. You can also clear unfinished form drafts from your browser's site data.
